Grading Policy

I. Assessments/Tests 25%

1. Unit Tests
2. Singing Tests
3. Sight Reading Tests
4. Mid-Term Exam (weighted by district)
5. Final Exam (weighted by district)

II. Performances 25%

1. Attendance
2. Punctuality
3. Proper Uniform
4. Music Preparation

III.Participation 25%

1. Preparation: students are required to have their folder, music and pencil for each rehearsal. A point deduction will be made if they are missing. In addition, if a student is chewing gum or consuming food, candy or pop there will also be a deduction. Cough Drops should not be consumed during the hour.

1. Participation: Students are expected to participate in after school rehearsals and performances as part of their grade. An unexcused absence will result in following point deductions
1. After school rehearsals – 50 points
2. After school dress rehearsals – 100 points
3. Performances – 150 points

IV. Homework & Quizzes 25%

1. Completed and turned in on time
